This project is part of one of the UK’s most ambitious heritage regeneration efforts, aimed at preserving over 1,000 years of history. The revitalised castle now offers a captivating experience, drawing visitors from all walks of life and offering a deep dive into its rich history.

Working closely with the project team, BECK London undertook the full fabrication and fit-out for the project. Our goal was to bring the client’s vision to life by transforming Nottingham Castle into a premier UK destination, while honouring and highlighting the heritage of this historic site. Every detail was carefully considered to ensure the final result was both innovative and respectful of its past.

The visitor experience at Nottingham Castle has been transformed with cutting-edge, interactive exhibits that bring its history to life. From showcasing the depth of the castle’s past to reflecting the wealth of collections it houses, visitors are immersed in the story of Nottingham and its people. These exhibits are designed not just to inform but to captivate audiences of all ages.

The newly designed Robin Hood Gallery stands as a highlight, where visitors can step into the legendary world of Robin Hood. With interactive elements like archery and quarterstaff combat, guests can actively participate in the myths and tales that have defined Nottingham’s medieval past. This gallery serves as a dynamic and engaging space for both learning and fun.

The transformation also includes five additional galleries within the Ducal Palace, each focusing on pivotal moments in Nottingham’s history. These galleries explore periods of rebellion, the development of the lace industry, and the city’s rich craft heritage. The completed renovation of Nottingham Castle ensures that it will remain a central part of the region’s cultural and historical identity for generations to come.
