BECK London is proud to have successfully completed the fit-out of Showtown, Blackpool’s new museum dedicated to fun, entertainment, and showbiz history. As the first UK public museum to feature permanent displays on circus, magic, illuminations, dance, and the seaside, Showtown captures the town’s iconic role in the entertainment industry.

Located within the Sands Building near Blackpool Tower, Showtown blends immersive storytelling with interactive experiences. The museum offers behind-the-scenes insights into the amusements, performances, and personalities that made Blackpool famous. Over 800 objects from Blackpool’s extensive collection help bring the displays to life.

BECK London played a key role in delivering a high-quality fit-out that enhances the visitor experience. The project included bespoke showcases to present rare artefacts, specialist exhibit lighting to create a theatrical atmosphere, and joinery setworks, graphics, and scenic installations to bring each interactive display to life.

Showtown features six themed galleries, each celebrating a different aspect of Blackpool’s entertainment legacy. Visitors can step into the magic of the seaside, explore the town’s circus heritage, uncover the secrets of stage and screen, and even design their own Illuminations display. From variety shows to ballroom dance, each gallery offers a unique and engaging experience.

Beyond its permanent displays, Showtown features a state-of-the-art temporary exhibition space, hosting two exhibitions per year. This adaptable gallery allows for collaborations with community groups and reflects pop culture trends and current events. BECK London is delighted to have contributed to this vibrant attraction, ensuring Blackpool’s rich entertainment history continues to inspire visitors for years to come.
